
The state of Pahang Darul Makmur, located on the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia, is the largest state in terms of land area on the Malay Peninsula. “Joget Tari Lenggang,” also known as “Joget Pahang,” is a traditional folk song composed by the late YBhg Tan Sri P. Ramlee from the 1956 movie Hang Tuah, starring P. Ramlee himself as the main character Hang Tuah, who sings “Joget Pahang” in the dance scene in the palace. Since then, this song has been re-recorded by many local artists. This dance is also used to greet guests upon their arrival at Kuantan 188, which is held every second and fourth week of the month.
